SUBOG Mission Statement
The Student Union Board of Governors will strive to enhance the educational, social, cultural, and recreational environment at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. SUBOG will encourage and promote the educational, social, cultural and recreational interests of its constituencies by provisions of facilities and services.

Programming Committees

• Comedy:
  Brings various comedians to campus such as: Kevin Hart, Bo Burnham and Dane Cook.
• Concert:
  Plans and sets up major artists such as All Time Low, Third Eye Blind and Wiz Khalifa.
• Daytime:
  Provides fun and free events during the day such as stuff-a-husky, lobster bakes- caricatures, and Segway driving.
• Film:
  Carefully picks movie sthat will be shown in the Student Union Theatre over the weekends, as will as plans other film related activities such as the student film festival.
• Fine & Performing Arts:
  Plans events that expand students views of the arts and music through various events such as Coffee Houses, chalk drawingm and Open Mic Night.
• Lecture:
  Brings fun and informative speakeres to UConn such as: Myth Busters, teddy Bruschi, Maya Angelou, Michael J. Fox, and Adrian Grenier.
• Major Weekends:
  Organizes some UConn's most valued traditional events such as Homecoming and Winter Weekend.
• Special Events:
  Coordinates various creative and fun events on campus such as Homecoming Carnival and Spa Day.
• Travel:
  Organizes off-campus weekend trips to some of the hot spots areas around New England such as Boston, Six flags and NYC.
• Sports Promotion:
  Plans and organizes sporting eents such as busing for UConn football and basketball games, as well as planning trips to other sporting events.

Outreach Committees

• Marketing Chairperson:
  Advertises on behalf of SUBOG, brainstorms how to get SUBOG's name seen across campus, and helps other committees promote their events.
• Recruitment and Retention chairperson:
  Aims to increase SUBOG membership by getting students excited about SUBOG, and organizing committee appreciation.
• Social Media Chairperson:
  Takes advantage of technology and the internet to advertise SUBOG's name seen across events.
