SUBOG Committees

• Comedy:
  Bring famous acts like Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle, Demetri Martin, and Dave Attell to campus. Also brings undiscovered comedians during the bi-weekly comedy series as well as holding UCONN Last Comic Standing.
• Concert:
  Choose bands and singers fro shows both large and small at UCONN. Then set-ups, runs, and break down the show. Past acts have been T-pain, Flo-rida, All-American Rejects, and Gym Class Heroes.
• Daytime:
  Plans fun, fast, and free events for students during the day as a quick break from class. This includes programs like carnivals, airbrushed t-shirts, and pumpkin painting.
• Film:
  Selects the films played in the Student Union Theater! Movies like 300, P.S. I Love You, and Superbad.
• Fine & Performing Arts:
  Plans diverse events that showcase student talent and bring culture to campus including: UCONN Idol, Slam Poets, and Salsa Magic.
• Lecture:
  Brings fun and informative speakers to UCONN; past shows have featured Lance Bass, Anthony Rapp of Rent, Frank Warren of Post Secret, and of course the Female Orgasm.
• Major Weekends:
  Puts together the Major Weekends at UCONN. These are Winter Weekend, Homecoming Week, and Senior Week. These events include parades, pageants, One Ton Sundae, and UCONN’s huge Lipsync!
• Special Events:
  This is the wildcard committee, anything goes! Past events have included everything from Hypnotists to Ghost Hunters to Step Shows even Dance Parties.
• Travel:
  When you need a change of scenery, travel committee arranges trips to places like Boston, NYC, Six Flags and for a little shopping, the mall.
• Sports Promotion:
  Take care of all your sports needs. This committee organizes busing to UCONN Football games, lets you know about all the on campus games, and even plans trips to Major League games!
• Outreach:
  Outreach is broken down into two committees: Advertising & Marketing and Public Relations and Info. Media. Their goal is to promote SUBOG all around campus. Great experience for business majors or anyone with a creative mind!
