Husky Roadshows Frequently Asked Questions
What is an athletic Roadshow?
SUBOG provides transportation for students to all UConn football games at Rentschler Field as well as all basketball games at the Hartford Civic Center.
What happens if I miss the bus?
If you miss the bus you must provide your own transportation to the game but can take the bus back if necessary. If you miss the bus after the game you must get back to UConn on your own. Ample time is provided to reach the buses after games.
Where do I get Roadshow tickets?
You can purchase tickets at the Student Union Ticket Booth.
How much is a Roadshow ticket?
Tickets are $2.00 with a valid UConn student ID.
Can my friend from another college use a Roadshow ticket?
Yes, they can. With your valid UConn student ID, you may purchase a ticket for someone else so long as they are going into the game with you.
When do the buses leave?
Football - The buses begin leaving two and a half hours before the game with the last bus leaving ninety minutes before kick-off.
Basketball - All the buses leave at the same time, ninety minutes before game-time.
Can my Roadshow ticket get me into the game?
No, your Roadshow ticket is only valid for transportation to and from the game.
Where do the Roadshow buses pick me up and drop me off?
The majority of the time students can pick up the buses in front of the Student Union. If they're not in front of the Student Union, it will be clearly advertised that they'll be at the “Mansfield Bus-Way,” which is near CLAS and Wilbur Cross.
Check with your bus captain to find out where the buses will pick you up after the game.
What is a bus captain?
A bus captain is a volunteer (typically a student) who is the main contact for the duration of the trip.
I want to be a bus captain. What are my responsibilities?
Notify the SUBOG Sports Promotion chair by calling the office at (860) 486-3904 or stopping by Room 204 in the Student Union. That individual will then provide you with the details (such as the game time, when you should show up, etc). Your primary job is to be the main contact for students on the bus you will be assigned to. SUBOG provides you with all the information you will need to do your job.
Do I need a game ticket to be a bus captain?
No, if you are willing to take on the responsibility of being a bus captain SUBOG will provide you with a complimentary game ticket.
If I am over 21 years old can I take alcohol on the bus?
No alcohol is permitted on any bus traveling to or from your destination.
Can I leave items on the bus?
No, you are responsible for all of your items. If something is left behind on the bus, SUBOG is not held responsible for your belongings, nor is the bus company.
What if I leave something on the bus?
If something is left behind on the bus accidentally, you may check with the SUBOG office after the Roadshow to find out if your items were found. Keep in mind that SUBOG is not responsible for the loss of your personal belongings.
What kind of buses do we take to the game?
Standard yellow school buses are used to transport student to the games.
Who do I contact if I need special accommodations?
SUBOG is always willing to make arrangements for students given ample time. Call the SUBOG office as soon as you are aware accommodations need to be met. Also make sure the staff member selling you your Roadshow ticket is aware of these accommodations at the time of the purchase. We ask for a 48 hour window to make any accommodations necessary.
What is the latest time I can get tickets?
We ask that you purchase tickets for the Roadshow at least 48 hours prior to the game. If you try to purchase them after that time period we cannot guarantee that tickets will be available.
Can I be refunded if I end up not going?
Tickets aren't refunded if they are not used.
Do I have to ride the bus both ways or do I have to notify someone if I am not?
Specifically for Roadshows, we don't require that you ride the bus both ways. However, you need to have a bus ticket even if you only use transportation in one direction.
What if I lost my ticket and it's after the Student Union Ticket Booth hours?
If you have lost your ticket you will be allowed on the very last bus on a space-available basis.
